BigQuery
Welcome to this step-by-step guide on connecting BigQuery to Kensu Hub.
By establishing this connection, you will be able to retrieve comprehensive information, including schemas and metrics of the tables utilized in your data processing jobs, which are processed by the Kensu collectors.
Before you begin configuring the BigQuery connection, ensure you have the following:
- A Google Cloud service account (for instance a JSON keyfile) with specific roles granted the necessary read permissions to access concerned datasets in the BigQuery Project. The minimum roles needed are:
- BigQuery Data Viewer
- BigQuery Job User
Follow the steps below to seamlessly integrate BigQuery with Kensu Hub and unlock advanced data insights:
1. Navigate to your Kensu Hub URL https://xxxxx-hub.kensuapp.com/
2. Upon accessing Kensu Hub, locate the Data Source Connections panel on the dashboard. Here, you'll see a list of supported data sources. Find and click on BigQuery configure to begin the process of creating a new connection.
3. Inside the BigQuery connection area, you'll find a section titled Dependencies. Click on the Configure button here to set up the prerequisites necessary for establishing a connection.
4. Look for the + icon. Clicking on this icon will open a form where you can enter the details for your new BigQuery connection.
5. Now, you'll need to fill out the form with specific information about your Google Cloud account. Here's what you'll need:
- conn_id: A unique ID for your connection.
- Keyfile JSON: The credentials JSON to connect the service account.
- Project Id: Your Google cloud project containing the elementary dataset.
6. After double-checking the information you've entered, click on the Submit button to finalize the connection. Kensu Hub will process your details and establish a connection to your Snowflake data source.
